Any info on the historical usage of this word would be much appreciated. Dictionary.com has its origin as 'A member of a men's religious order who is not in holy orders but engages in the work of the order'. Oxford has noted first observation as a slang term on English school yards in the early 20th century. Yet other sources show slang use in the mid-1800's, but have no references. It appears to be most popular within surf culture, and in fact, here in California it's use by non-Surfers is becoming akin to the use of 'dude' in the early 80's; ironic, and mocking.
this is a kick ass page
this page is well done. props to MacDowden or Mad Cow Man. Is this user around under a different name now or su-um
Bros Bros were a United Kingdom boy band active in the late 1980s, consisting of the brothers Matt Goss and Luke Goss (hence the name, pronounced like "cross"), along with Craig Logan.
Their first single, ''I Owe You Nothing'', was released in 1987 on CBS. The second, ''When Will I Be Famous'' reached number 2 in the UK. Their first album, Push, was released in 1988.
Logan left the band in 1989, and the brothers Goss continued touring. A second album, ''The Time'' was released in 1989 followed by ''Changing Faces'' in 1991 before the band imploded in 1992, amid contractual and money issues.
Matt Goss started his solo career in 1995, and has also released singles in 2003-2004.
Bro-X
Bro-X Minerals Ltd. was a spin off company of The Bre-X Group of Companies. Bro-X was in the process of exploring Sangihe and Sable in North Sulawesi and North Sumatra Indonesia. Although Bro-X was apparently not involved in any fraud like Bre-X Minerals Ltd. was Bro-X did file for bankrupcy. Bre-X found between 50 million and 100 million ounces of gold, which is valued at between $25 billion and $50 billion at current gold prices. Bre-X shares went from pennies to more than $250 before splitting 10-for-one.

Snow Bros
Snow Bros is an arcade game released in 1990 by Toaplan. It is a platform game similar in gameplay to Bubble Bobble.
Overview
In the game, the player must eliminate all the enemies on each level. This is achieved by turning the enemies into snowballs, and then rolling them at walls.
Description
The game supports up to 2 players, and each player takes the part of one of two snowmen Nick and Tom. Each player can throw snow at the enemies. The player must throw snow at each enemy until it is completely covered, and turns into a snowball. An enemy partially covered in snow cannot move, until it shakes it off.
Once an enemy has been turned into a snowball, the player can roll it. The snowball will re-bound off walls, until eventually shattering against a wall. Also, any enemies the snowball rolls into are eliminated, and other stationary snowballs start rolling when the rolling snowball touches them.
Every 10th level there is a Boss. Each Boss has a number of hit points, and attacks the player with ordinary enemies, which the player must turn into snowballs and roll into the Boss, until it runs out of hit points.
